In this new ongoing, ever elvloving, series entitled “Slumber Party”, the artist chose to react immediately to random selected publications, fashion magazine pages, and other printed material. Without any forethought, or preconception, the pages were scratched, ripped, cut, collaged, or painted with large sweeping brush strokes of polyurethane mixed with oil paint. An upward of 20 to 30 works were completed during each session. The limited palette of colors were allowed to pool, and form rippled motiffs, and the surface was further embellished with silver leaf. Selected pages were scanned, and printed on canvas or as larger photo prints, where they were further manipulated. “Slumber Party” allowed for quick decision making and more primal reactions, while still embodying the figure in it’s most carnal/abstract state.
